About the Editor.
Lydia has been immersed in stories for as long as she can remember, reading her way through library shelves and developing a deep appreciation for the craft behind every book. She began editing in high school through her writer’s group and has since turned her passion for refining stories into a career. As a writer herself, she knows every book begins as something rough, raw, and full of potential.
She has a particular love for dystopian, fantasy, sci-fi, and clean romance, though she’ll happily dip into just about any genre. When she isn’t editing, Lydia is probably tinkering with a story idea of her own—or convincing herself that one more book definitely won’t make the bookshelf collapse.
Her constant companions as she edits? An oat milk latte and a silly cat named Toothless.
What’s up with the Name?
The name “Drossless Editing” was inspired by the refining process of removing dross—the unwanted material skimmed away from precious metal so the good stuff can shine.
Copy editing works much the same way (just with fewer furnaces and significantly more commas). It helps clear away grammatical errors, awkward phrasing, and unnecessary clutter, leaving your writing polished, refined, and ready for readers.
“Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.” (Proverbs 25:4, KJV.)
